You don’t improve your riding position by just riding!
Without conscious effort you will recruit the same muscles, in the same order, as these ingrained patterns have “motorways” for neural communication. These “motorways” keep the inactive muscles dormant and the dominant muscles work harder so imbalances remain. How often does your coach tell you to do the same thing? Sit up, elbows in, you’re looking down, knee gripping, lower leg position? They are all habits we have learnt to stay on.
Off horse training means we can target our “b roads” creating new pathways for correct, coordinated movement which we take back into our riding. With repetition our “b roads” become our new “motorways” and the new learned movement eventually becomes subconscious.
Now is the time to take your riding to the next level – whether that is performance or comfort related. (We all have our own personal goals). Winter is a great time to work on yourself, with less competing and dark nights use this time positively and make a difference to your riding
I provide various levels of rider training from 121 and group face to face classes. Online classes. 121 assessments both on and off horse.
