Where is your weight in your stirrups? Across the balls of the feet or more on the big or little toe? This will influence how balanced you feel and how well your ankle, knee and hip absorb movement. Our feet have millions of receptors telling our brain about the surface they are on and our joint positions. We limit this info by wearing boots and then only have a small percentage in contact with the stirrups. Training our joint receptors will improve our balance and ensuring our joints have the capacity to move are ways that we can improve our riding. I cover this and loads more in my classes either online or face2face groups or 121.
